What a Difference!

What a difference seven weeks make!  When we left Australia to visit our families for the holidays, Alexis was just over 13 months old and now that we're back, she is 15 months old.  Alexis grew up so much during our trip.  Here's some of the things that she learned while we were gone:
  • how to walk backwards and sideways
  • how to spin in a circle (usually seen while she is dancing)
  • the hand movements to the song "Popcorn Popping" (see video here)
  • discovered a love of animals, particularly cats and dogs
  • the sign for "more"
  • how to fold her arms for prayer
  • lots of animal noises (tiger, lion, cow, duck, chicken, owl, elephant, sheep)
  • how to say dog, cat, and duck
  • how to draw (scribble) with a pen/pencil
  • how to say "all done" (her first two-word phrase)
  • how to give closed-mouth kisses (she used to only give huge, open-mouth slobbery ones)
  • how to follow directions (she is an exceptionally good listener for her age . . . hopefully this will last)
  • how to nod her head up and down for "yes"
  • how to blow her nose, and . . .
lots of body parts
(video taken 12 January 2011)

Alexis is learning new things everyday.  It is so fun to watch her grow and change.  Since we've been back she's learned how to say "apple," "bubble," and "amen,"  how to blow bubbles when she's swimming, and where her bum and tongue are.  She's also learned the hand movements to the song "Three Little Monkeys."  We can't wait to see what she learns next!
